I started using my UE 700s for jogging and after a while the chrome paint on the right side started coming off.  Well a couple weeks ago I noticed very harsh noises from the right side on some occasions; I wasn't sure what it was as moving the cord did nothing but sometimes I could replicate it by moving the IEM.  I was thinking may the driver went bad(maybe sweat got in there), cracked housing or something of that nature.  Anyway, fast forward to a few days ago; I decided to stick a q-tip in my ear as deep as I can(I know, dangerous) and when I pulled it out, there it was...CHROME!  There was a flake of chrome paint that was in my ear for maybe 2 weeks.  I was I had taken pics but anyways the harsh sound is gone and all is well again.
 
The chrome on my SF5s came off too but I guess since they're on the outside, none had made it into my ear. 
 
Just a heads up for guys using 700s.  I'm about to go ahead and try to remove all the chrome off the housing.
