UAE23+ vs. SD-1955+

I ordered a UAE23+ and it just arrived and my jaw dropped after listening to ONE song. The bass is so rich on this, it is simply delightful!
The Midrange is smooth and the soundstage is immense!
I use my UAE23+ with an amplifier and speakers (AUNE X2 Amp -> PSB Alpha B1 Bookshelf speakers).
From what I gather, the UAE23+ separates its powersource to an external PSU as opposed to grabbing power from the USB, like the smaller UAE23
My previous DAC was an ORDO All-In-One (DAC+Head Amp+T-amp) with a PCM2704 DAC which was clearly inferior to this.
