I have two external HDD's and I want iTunes to recognize them both.

Currently iTunes puts all of the files I download and rip into the folder on my laptops HDD (the generic "Music" folder) because one of my external HDD's is full.

how do I get iTunes to put the files on my second external drive, instead of defaulting to my laptop?

will I have to create another library? I would rather not do this, because that will mess up a bunch of shows that I have on season pass =/

hopefully someone has solved this problem

Isn't it just as simple as going to preferences in iTunes, going to advanced, and making a second iTunes folder location entry?

Could be wrong though!

Yes, just specify a new iTunes library in Advanced preferences. Doing this doesn't break any of the links to any content you have, and it doesn't move all your various files to the new directory unless you tell it to. If you later decide to move all your files to the external disk (after you've created a new library on that disk), use the Consolidate Library option.
