Every hobbyshop in America has deans connectors in 2, 3, or 4 pin varieties. They even stock mini-deans connectors. These are used alot in radio control and electric RC wiring.

I think the dissadvantage is that they may not stay securly connected during use, I would like to find a small connector with a locking feature to use for this type of connection. I'm going to keep looking.

There are about 5 different cables I'de like to try, but really don't want to dissassemble to change cables. Hard to do A/B testing this way.

Let us know how the Deans work out.

Though I haven't put them on my cables yet (one pair they sent me was defective, so they're sending me another one), it takes a fair bit of force to pull them apart, more than I thought it would from looking at them, definitely more than what a cable would exert on them while hanging.

I think these will work fine, but if you do find some locking ones, please let us know.

I'll put up pictures and how everything holds together and works with these connectors once I'm done.

Just updating like I said I would.

It holds great when I'm listening, no loose-ness in the connection. I didn't notice any difference in sound really, but maybe my ears just aren't sharp enough to hear the minute difference. dunno.

Anyway, I'm satisfied with the results.

Thanks. Yeah, unfortunately I couldn't fit the female inside the headphones because of the black rubber tube thing that sticks out. I suppose it could be done if I removed that piece and maybe made the hole a little bigger, then used some hot glue to keep it held tightly. I don't mind it like this though.

The y-split has a neutrik barrel there. Mostly just for looks.
