Dude......i ordered icarus IV as well after spending a month or so listening exclusively to it with all of my sources BUT a custom 3.5 to 2.5mm cable wont give balanced sound UNLESS the device you te going to use suppirts balanced output like all android daps out there or Aune M1s...
I mean if you have allready a dap with 2.5 trrs out go ahead...but even then get in touch with Kieran firom Trinity first anyway to confirm that....cheers Alex
They are going to send the IV next week, hope you would get them soon

At this point i like listening to ICARUS III more than LZ A4 or the Dunu DN 2000 or the Rose BR 5...
It is the definition of the rounded sound with spectacular soundstage and imaging great low end impact and transparent midrange using the right filters imo...

I use them with an Opus 1 that does have a 2.5 balanced out.

I was looking for balanced output for use with a Shanling M3S

I had the lz-a4 for a bit and also the lz-a2 and like the Icarus 3 more. Seems they could sell them for about $90 and get a real following

Really a fun sound using gunmetal.

They give my FLCS a run for their money

I do enjoy listening to icarus III more than LZ A4 too....more full bodied and depth in the soundstage on icarus

This cable stuff aside, I was glad to see some recent positive reviews of the Icarus III again. IMHO, I think they are great. I love the soundstage and separation. Just love it. I haven't used anything else since getting them. Yes, I waited 6 months to receive 'em but I got that HF discount so I won't complain. Clearly TA pissed folks off, I get that. But now that I have them, and use them as my dailies, I have to say they are a wonderfully sounding IEMs that give you the ability to fine-tune the sound to your precise liking. For me foam tips with the green filters is sonically brilliant. I look forward to listening to old tracks every morning because these 'phones have proven to show detail I have missed for years. The I3 have abled me to rediscover music on the go much like the Grado's I use on the home system. Just had to get that off my chest.

They've always produced excellent sounding IEMs. Even the much derided PM4 were, in my opinion, high performers offering a ton of speed, space, and impact. I attached a cheap Chinese Bluetooth cable to mine. They're my go to street set up sporting silver filters.

Hard not to empathize with those who ordered Hunters, PM6, and Airs though. Waiting over a year is bad enough. Being guaranteed next week delivery month after month is just insulting.

I highly respect the craftsmanship they demonstrated, but find the disrespect they've shown their customers to be shameful. I believe they'll deliver what they can eventually. If they were going to cut and run, I imagine they'd have done it by now

Yes, they made good iem indeed, but as a business...

Just want to express that to anyone here for another time....i dont even mind the fact that i had to wait for so long to get icarus on hand because the sound is just HUGE !!!!!!!
I am certainly in love with the signature of icarus iii.....low end is superb....midrange is superb.....treble extension : superb....
Soundstage/Imaging and instrument placement?.....superb.....
Headroom?.....superb....
At least to my poor knowledge and experience so far... ICARUS III sounds like heaven......and thats not about to change any time soon .......

Love mine too, only really have those and a pair of AKG N40 which are worth a mention but the Icarus III are my day to day use. I think my AKG seem to have a bit more clarity/detail but there is something about the Icarus III that has me going back to them. They also cost me way less than the AKG. I like the Gold filter, have tried a few and many seem to like the Green ones but I find I lose too much low end for me with the green and I'm no bass head. I'm only using them on a Fiio X5iii as this is my only decent source. Really glad I took a punt at the Icarus III as I pre ordered them just after buying the AKG and wasn't sure if I should and although I had to wait a while for them I'm more than happy with what I got and the wait is part of the deal when you're getting them for a pre order discount price.

Glad you’ve been enjoying them, they’ve been my EDC pair since they arrived, to me they have all the good parts of the other Trinity IEMs I own (Master, PM4, both versions of the Vyrus) with none of the drawbacks. I’m not sure the Icarus IV can best it at this stage, but I’m very interested to find out.
