Should i?

I already own a RS-1 and had a DT880 (04 version).

The AKG does not really engage me and i find myself going back to the RS-1 for most of my listening ( ok maybe except classical.)

any one had experiences with the V1 version?

as an owner of 6 Darths (4 at present -2x X-Deep, 1x 32ohm std, 1x 80 ohm std) ....... the 250 ohm version would not be on my shopping list past, present, or future. FWIW - my listening choices are jazz (where I also use Alessandro MS Pro w/flat pads, and Joe Grado HP-2), and classical (modded k340 are king for Sym.).

Oh dear. That seems like a no then.

I listen to lots of jazz as well, in which i use the RS-1 extensively.

I thought the 2005 250ohm was the Luke Skybeyer?
They are 250ohm, and only a V1 I think -- no V2 yet.
That is going to sound different than a V1 regular Darth.
OP -- is the V1 a 2005 or newer model Beyer, or is it really an early V1 Darth Beyer?

Hi Silverrain, the info i got suggests that they are a V1 model from 03.

Yup -- those are regular Darths -- not hte later Luke Skybeyers.

I ohave never heard a V1 or V2 -- only V3 models.

But, since you already have RS-1 and DT880, maybe you would want to try these out for a change in sound -- if you like bass, that is.

I had the DT880. A looooooooooooooong time ago. They were my first serious cans. Ive heard the old skool DT770 before and liked them alot, which is why im considering trading my 701s for the 770s. ( While i like the soundstage/details of the 701s they seem alittle lacking in bass as compared to my RS-1s). And i love fun-cans, (RS1!), but there has been comparsion btw the old 80 ohm and 250 ohm versions with mixed reports that the 80ohm version is the one to get ( but also, some say the difference is minimal. )

Slightly confused now. ):

With a minimal top up, of course.
