Toronto Winter Meet
Nov 26, 2013 at 12:44 PM Post #61 of 322
Hey guys,

new here on Head-fi and I'm glad I searched "Toronto" in this forum.  Just wanted to say I'm down for the 15th.

I'm bringing a Grado SR80i, Beyerdynamic Custom Pro one, Sony MDR ZX700 and an Audiotechnica ATH-M50...if that's not too boring a set of equipment.

You're gear is NOT boring!

But my gear is, LOL!

I welcome meeting you! :)

Hey Chris,

thanks man.  I wonder how many people will actually be there at final count.

btw, what type of music and format are people bringing?  I've got a lot of stuff, but it's in flac format.  I've also got a bit of hi-res flacs if people want me to bring that.

People bring all kinds of formats, even CDs!

I usually bring a CD player and an iPod with a digital dock.

A lot of guys bring their computer with a billion different file formats.

I'm in London, Ontario and would love to make it out to the meet, but I doubt I'd be able to manage it this time.

Glad to know there's an active meet community though, I'd love to make it work sometime!!

Hope you all have a blast!

Happy listening!

It's on sale at Razordog deals for $649 + shipping + customs and duties.

I was actually able to price match the HD700s at NCIX.ca for $649 + tax. No shipping fees cause I can ship the item to a store 5 min away from me for free and pick up when it's ready. Hence my total $649 + $95 HST = $733 all in.

In addition, this item qualifies for free express shipping from NCIX if you don't opt for local pick up.

Too bad that my setup cannot drive the HD700, there is one on sale that priced really well

I can defiantly come with my LCD3's and Burson Conductor. Still knew to all this and this site and eager to hear other gear.

Defiantly?

LOL!

I'll try to make this meet if I can, I live about two hours away in the Niagara region. I've got an HE-400, Momentum On-Ear, and Audioquest Dragonfly. I also ordered a JDS Labs O2 that I'll have soon. The problem is transportation, I have money for gas but I don't drive yet.

Where are you at?  Getting around in Toronto isn't so bad by subway and if you need to get into town, there's a go stop at York Mills Station and Finch station.  Shouldn't have any trouble unless you're on the outskirts.

I'm heading in from Kitchener the day of and don't mind picking you up along the way if you're close to an exit along the 401.

We're all waiting to hear back for confirmation that everything's a go.

That's true, I could pack a bag with my gear, and catch a train or a bus. I live in Niagara Falls, thanks for the offer though. I'll definitely find my way there, I need to hear some high-end gear before I start considering expensive purchases. I've been meaning to go to a meet for a long time and it sounds like a lot of fun

If you are near the casinos, can you maybe take one of those shuttle buses that will take you to Toronto? :p
I go to Fallsview fairly often and have looked into those buses in the past (though I always just drive there).
