Top Ten Electronic Music CDs?
Nov 18, 2002 at 5:13 AM Post #16 of 44
I've been able to listen to the following albums on and off quite often:

Massive Attack - Mezzanine
Massive Attack - Blue Lines
Alpha - Come From Heaven
Theivery Corporation - the Mirror Conspiracy
Primal Scream - XTRMNTR
Portishead - Portishead
Zero 7 - Simple Things
Purple Penguin - Question

I listen to everything else on and off, so that is why I couldn't make it to ten.

Ahhh, such a broad question. I suppose that's what makes it a good one, eh?

Let's see... in no particular order...

Orbital "II / brown album"
Tetsu Inoue "Organic Cloud"
Autechre "Tri Repetae++" (need that 2nd disk)
Venetian Snares "Doll Doll Doll"
Woob "1194"

Umm.. ****... that's five... this is hard. Picking my absolute FAVORITES is difficult.

Datacide "Flowerhead"
Inade "Aldebaran"
Juno Reactor "Beyond the Infinite"
Coil "Musick to Play in the Dark" (1 or 2... CAN'T DECIDE)

Guh. That's nine. The tenth is subject to change...

Not sure of the order... but these *definitely* belong:

Orbital - Orbital 2 (the brown album)
Kraftwerk - Man Machine/Computer World
Higher Intelligence Agency - Freefloater
The Orb - The Orb's Adventures Beyond The Ultraworld

Dunno if I have ten... please forgive possible genre-jumping.

Orb - The Orb's Adventures Beyond the Ultraworld, UFOrb

The Black Dog - Spanners

Tangerine Dream - Phaedra

Brian Eno - On Land (Ambient 4), Thursday Afternoon, Shutov Assembly (yeah, I know it's not exactly electronic)

I'll confess a soft spot for cheesy old Jean-Michel Jarre, specifically Oxygen, Equinox, and Les Chant Magnetiques, or whatever it was.

How is it not electronic music? It was created entirely with electronics, and sure sounds electronic.
