half the Beautiful South's songs are about breaking up
i think the lyrics to Your father and I are particularly good
"So if the teacher asks you
Are you from Heaven or are you from Hell
You're from a one star drunken screw
In a one star motel
Yes if the teacher asks you
Are you from Heaven or are you from Hell
You're from a pitch black toilet
In a highway Taco Bell"
I wouldn't say R&B has the best lyrics for any deep or intellectual life processes, but Ne-yo has recently caught my ears, and his lyrics been on my mind.
(tbh, almost all R&B lyrics are garbage.. I just like the tight bass and beats in R&B / hiphop through my Alessandro MS-1's )
Ben Harper - Another Lonely Day (sad)
Wendy Matthews - The Day You Went Away (sad)
U2 - The Sweetest Thing (bitter)
Tori Amos - Baker, Baker (regretful)
I know this thread is old but I just found it and i like it so:
reo speedwagon in your letter
phil collins dont let him steal your heart away
Greetings, Anouk,
Billy Joel - "And So It Goes"
Jim Croce - "Photographs and Memories"
The Killers - "Mr. Brightside"
Amos Lee - "What's Been Goin' On"
