Man, this is going to be difficult.

"De-loused in the Comatorium" - the Mars Volta
"Still" - Nine Inch Nails
"Abbey Road" - the Beatles

I don't know how concrete #2 and #3 are, though. There's just so many good albums.

Also see:
"Black Holes and Revelations" - Muse
"F#A#(infinity)" - Godspeed You! Black Emperor
"Grace" - Jeff Buckley

This thread is great, hadn't seen it, my shame.
Since I like jazz, classical, pop, progressive, blues, electronica... I find it very hard to choose just three. Three not even cover all the genres I enjoy. It'd be fairier if we could separate them for genres, but for this time I'll say just three in no particular order:

- The Beatles: Abbey Road
- Beethoven 9th Symphony - Karajan, BPO 1963
- Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers - Moanin'

These three should come with me to a dessert island, but at least other 20-30 should come with them too

Great thread! This is going to help me decide what albums to try next.

I could pick 20 that would be virtually tied. In the interest of variety:

Beatles--The White Album
Elvis Costello--King of America
Neil Young--Harvest

. . . and The Clash--London Calling (tied for third just so I could squeeze it in).

For today.....

Rolling Stones - Sticky Fingers
Bob Dylan - Blood On The Tracks (The New York Sessions)
Lucinda Williams - Car Wheels On A Gravel Road

And Jeff Buckley sneaks up there every few months or so
