Here is my mini review:

It’s TOOL!!! Thus there is very little to say. Does it rock? Hell yes!!! How is the music? Awesome. What’s the best song? Well – that’s bit more difficult to choose at the moment. I have listen to the album about two dozen times with most of my headphones. The sound on all the tracks is great but I would have to say that the award for best track is between Vicarious and Rosetta Stoned. Vicarious is more in the typical popular style of TOOL (like Schism) but Rosetta Stoned is a definite progression from songs like Schism. The drumming on this track is very impressive. Wait until you listen to it on your cans, especially with tracks like Intension -

.

I won’t say much else so as to not spoil the full album. Is is worth standing in line? You bet your @ss it is!!! This is one album all music fans should get.

NOT TO BE MISSED!

PS - I DO NOT HAVE ANY OF THE TRACKS ANYMORE. I HAVE DELETED THEM SO PLEASE DO NOT PM ME REGARDING THEM. BELIEVE ME – THE ALBUM IS WORTH THE WAIT AND YOU SHOULD GO OUT AND BUY IT.

Nice thanks!!

Definitely I will be purchasing the album...Tool and Pearl Jam in fact - on the same day.

But hearing it before most, kicks ass

I have also deleted the songs from my computer. I feel that this is something so extremely special. Hearing it for a brief amount of time to let it build up inside my head, to play it back over and over inside my brain. Then on May 2nd, will it be fully fleshed out all over me again. This is something truely special, was the wait worth it? Yes, in more ways than one.

That is exactly my point.

From TDN:

"Yes, the almost-inevitable has happened. Don't email me asking what I'm talking about. No, I'm serious, don't email me about it. Don't ask where you can get it, or anything else about this. Just make sure you buy "10,000 Days" when it comes out in two weeks. Make sure you support the band that has given you so much good music. If you don't, you may not get any more in the future. As one fan said, 'the band worked too hard on this for it to be blown by people who do nothing but accumulate MP3s.'"

I plan on buying at least two copies

I really can't come to a conclusion after hearing it, and I think Kabir from TDN said it the best when describing this album as a whole:

Quote:

I do think this album may not be one you just put on and rock out to. It's a much more satisfying meal than a snack...

...You will want to buy this the day it comes out. Trust me. It may not be exactly what you are expecting, but it is exactly what you are waiting for.

I've already deleted my copy after one listen, talk about self-control eh?

This album is worth the wait! From the bit that I have been teased with I'm guessing my PS-1's will have a new best friend!

I dig the vocals on The Pot, they were unexpected and kept my ears even more interested! Carey is totally rockin the sheet on this one... actually they all are as usual... very very impressed!

It's too bad that there is not more originality and innovation like this in the rock/metal genres.

Tell me about it. This is one of the major reasons why I dig TOOL so much.

EDIT: What did you guys think of Rosetta Stoned?

I have heard the leak, and I think it's amazing.

Not the music, the prank they pulled over all of us. It's clearly Tool, it's obviously not Tool's masterpiece that we will see on May 2nd.

While it's 'speculation', they obviously wrote 2 albums and leaked this one.

At the same time, Kabir @ Toolshed is in on the joke too. Once this decoy leaked, he says that he forgot to post his review of 10,000 days, and that he put it up. Oh sure, right after the leak spreads and EVERYONES heard it, he decides to post the review that he convieniently forgot to put up earlier?

Brilliant, Tool. Fooled most of the internet!

Although it's pretty funny that Tool's decoy album still beats most of the other stuff released now adays.
