To twist or not to twist....?

I'm one of the multiple buyers of the Outlaw cables that Macdeff so generously volunteered his time and effort for.

Now that I've received them and plugged them in (and am loving them), I suddenly had a question on an issue I never considered before. If there's already a thread on this subject, please excuse me and direct me to it.

I was wondering the relative merits of twisting these cable pairs. Is it better to do so or to run them in parallel?

They appear to be very well shielded, so I don't imagine there're any cross talk issues. How about RF or any other induced EMF issues?

Anyone? Anyone?

AFAIK twisting increases inductance, which lowers low bass response, but I wonder how hard you have to twist and how long the cable has to be for this to matter audibly?

The signal conductors are a shielded and twisted pair internally. (Balanced construction.) I wouldn't worry too much about the external lead dress.

In the case that you could twist them enough to, as you pointed, have an inductance significant at audio frequencies, high frequency response is the one that would be actually lowered.

DAMN! When did I start mixing these up? And I'd been talking like this for weeks without thinking too

Davo,
I forgot to mention that the Outlaws are double telescopically shielded. The inner shield is copper foil and the outer is copper braid. Both shields are connected to ground at the source end only so as to minimize ground loop problems.
