just curious...and wanted to know badly.

i know with the timing when the amps are sent,
the inside board and parts are little different.

i've noticed that most of the amps that was made
before 4/11 mod, most of the amps have the 16v 1000uf where
as it seems, the newer ones have the 10v 1200uf.
(unless it was upgraded)
is this a way to tell the newer ones from the old ones?
any info?

here's a pic of mine...

that's exactly why it's so confusing. lol

people with the latest upgrade has the 16v 1000uf that
was originally in their sm4.

i'm trying to find out if anyone purchased their machine after 4/11...

or could it be that it maybe the really early models had the 10v 1200uf?

just trying to make a guidelines for secondhand xin sm4 users.

If you lived in the USA I could send you a Panasonic 1200 uF 10 Volts. I have a few at hand and it would be for free. You would only pay for the shipping.

hmm. maybe i should.

and the offer for the 1200uf 10V, thanx.
but you know where i live. lol
can't trust those usps people. lol

would it make a difference if i swapped my 1200uf 10v to
panasonic 1200uf 10v?

According to Jamato8 yes and it is very noticeable. Of course you will need to burn in it for at least 300 hours.

yeah, burn in!

how would one subscribe to burn-in method(s)?
1. listen to the amp for the total 300 hrs
2. listen to the amp for 1 hr and then let it drives your heaphones with normal listening volume for the next 299 hours; remember how it sounded like in hour 1 and now compare it to hour 300+?

one more thing.

is there an supermacro IV that doesn't have any problems with
oscillation when using opa637?
some heat problem too...

My latest upgraded SM4(maxout Hi-C version) has oscillation with OPA637 in 1st.&2nd channels.
Now I use OPA627BP in 1st.&2nd. channels and NMJ4556 in 3rd.&4th. channel.
The sound of 627BP is more transparent than 627AP.
NMJ4556 has more wide sound stage than OPA2107,AD275,LM4562,OPA2134,AD8066.
Dr.Xin changed OPA2107 to NMJ4556 when I send for 9/25/06 upgrade

Mine has 1200uF 10V that was originaly in my SM4.
The difference is in board.
