I had read several reviews on olina, but, like mochill, just had a gut feeling about this when I saw it (I know that sounds silly), but I've studied all the graphs and reviews too. Olina looks a lot bulkier to me regarding fit. I have smaller ears so fit is very important to me. My most-used iems are ThieAudio L3 (custom) and LZ A7, most-used sources are dx160 and LG v60 phone. I like very articulate, accurate SQ, but also MUSICAL sound reproduction. That balance of articulation and (slightly warm) musicality is the magical secret sauce, I think. I build my own speaker systems from scratch so that's the sound I strive for.
Looking forward to hearing them. Thanks for the time and effort for your review and the prompt responses!

You do have to go by the gut feeling (not silly). At times it’s hard to override the analysis side, but yes, the instinct! Many of my purchases like that.I had read several reviews on olina, but, like mochill, just had a gut feeling about this when I saw it (I know that sounds silly), but I've studied all the graphs and reviews too. The Olina isn't a large IEM. I felt a bit nervous ordering it before reviews were out (HBB pushing it was hardly objective). I can recommend it, imaging and details are stunning.
When I heard the sound signature of the TTROMSO on the SiriusB YouTube , my jaw dropped. They are the dead opposite of what I liked in the Olina, warm and visceral, rather than pinpoint precise and accurate. The review from Redcarmoose sealed the deal for me. The GS Audio GD3C was my next planned purchase but I squeezed these in as well.
They are in the country, I just have to wait for them to clear customs and get delivered. I'll be really annoyed if they get held up until after Easter!

I’m really interested in your interpretation of the TTROMSO! Just be sure it’s after at least 40-50 hours? The Olina isn't a large IEM. I felt a bit nervous ordering it before reviews were out (HBB pushing it was hardly objective). I can recommend it, imaging and details are stunning.

After some burn-in, maybe we can get a small sound explanation?Very beautiful ,
Congratulations ,,,
Fingers crossed.
I'm currently hooked on the Tromsos. The bass is visceral without being overwhelming. The sound is so addicting.
My current IEM rotation: Tipsy Tromso <-> Penon Orb <-> Penon Serial

When I opened the box and looked at them... I just knew I had to mount my macro lens to get some close-up shots.Very beautiful ,
Congratulations ,,,
Burn in...? Wow, these sound so good straight out of the box, I don't know if 40 to 50 hours will improve anything any further. I only listened for an hour, now they're connected to my stereo headphone output burning in.After some burn-in, maybe we can get a small sound explanation?
Fingers crossed.
Fit is great, very comfortable. The stock cable is a little stiff, but not bad. Cable microphonics is present, but subdued due to loop over ear configuration. If cable was straight down, cable microphonics would be worse.
Out of box sound impression: Overall very well balanced. Nice bass and sub-bass rumble, not muddy. Mid-range and treble have nice detail, sound centered, not forward or recessed compared to bass presentation. Maybe you also found the same?

Yes, they really don’t need any burn-in! My sound perspective was much like yours, I love how they sound! Fit great, totally comfortable!Burn in...? I'm gonna leave them plugged into the stereo for a coupe of days and see if the sound changes. I have the feeling my out of box listening impression pretty much nailed. If the sound gets better that will be extra icing on the cake.Yes, they really don’t need any burn-in! My sound perspective was much like yours, I love how they sound! Fit great, totally comfortable!

Well, that’s the thing..............that they have a welcoming FR straight out of the box. Though it may be brain-burn-in or burn-in, but (to me) they did eventually get smoother and have a slightly larger soundstage/ imaging. Though in my personal experience they started to get a slight dullness.I'm gonna leave them plugged into the stereo for a coupe of days and see if the sound changes. I don’t know if the dulling down was simply my better understanding of the FR. As due to exposure to a signature over time the brain will slow get better at understanding the sound. What was first a thrill with a frequency, then becomes occlusion of other frequencies.
Though a quick fix was to change to a different DAP as well as instantly change to a silver cable. So in the end it worked out amazing for me. Only one other IEM in my history did this, but it also was easily fixed with the same (not exactly the same cable) technique.
But also it should be noted that I was using one (if not THE) warmest of DAPs known. So maybe most will never reach critical warmth, and subsequently need to adjust?
