"This song is incredible. I heard it on WRVU, a Vanderbilt student radio station and have to get this album. This song is the funkiest, grooviest track and the lyrics are powerful."
I think it was underused in that movie...most of those late 60's french movies have really aged badly. OTOH, Delon often saves them because he can act.
The 2006 remastered version is as funky as can be: funky drums, thick bass and aerial distorted Rhodes...that's the magic combo to funkiness. Too bad the singer never shuts it, but luckily there's a few instrumentals.
I missed this thread and at the moment I am in the mood for Funk...
Now Funkadelic's album "Funkadelic" is playing, on vinyl. Words cannot describe the pleasure... I shall want more Funk on vinyl and kick **s speakers. "Everybody's Got A Thing..."
it p****** me off to no end that he died at 36 in a scuba diving accident. he might very well be my favorite musician ever, he didn't copy other ppl, he was self-trained and created his own sound. he died 1 year before I was born, that's crazy.
he's been a strong influence to Boards of Canada, no doubt about it.
It's a cover, but still a very good one...can't find the original tune on youtube.
