Three albums you MUST hear!

Nice thread! Here are mine:

Eva Cassiday - Live at Blues Alley
The Blue Hawaiians - Live at the Lava Lounge
Bob Marley - Exodous

These are not my favorite 3 albulms of all time, but each offers something special to me each time I listen.

Eva Cassiday had a voice that totally melts my heart, and it was sad that she didn't have more time to share with us.

The Blue Hawaiians don't really belong on this kind of list, and I'm not so sure that surf music would sound good on headphones, but there's no better way I can think of to start my day on my speaker rig at 95+ dB when I'm ironing in the morning. Way cool stuff.

Marley, what can I say? Perhaps the only artist who could be mentioned in the same breath as Elivs and The Beatles in terms of his far reaching impact. It's not all about rock & roll, you know, and Exodus catches him at the height of his career. The 2-disc Deluxe Edition remaster is extremely well done, and the bonus tracks on the extra disc are not at all throw away material. In fact, I would readily recommend "Legend" and "Rastaman Vibration" in this format as well, but "Exodus" is the place to start if you haven't yet.

For phone ecstacy:

65daysofstatic:The Fall of Math
Alias: The Other Side of The Looking Glass
Black Dice: Creature Comforts
BlackMothSuperRainbow:Start a People
..I haven't even graced 24 other letters of the alphabet

There's heavy tonnage when it comes to good tunes on phones.

My all time favorite is El-P: Fantastic Damage

Great thread!

These aren't "Top 3 Best Ever", but here are my recommendations that:
a) seem to have broad, immediate appear to listeners, even ones who "don't like" the genre/artist,
b) are great on headphones and
c) you GOTTA hear!

1. Propellerheads Decksanddrumsandrockandroll
2. Beastie Boys The In Sound from Way Out
3. ...and I second or third Dire Staits Brothers in Arms

Honorable mention for Dark Side of the Moon (of course), and the soundtack to the movie Pi.

For headphone listening specifically my current favorites are

Allison Krauss and Union Station - Live
Allman Bros - Live at Fillmore East (Deluxe)
Harry Connick Jr - She

That will change by next week though I'm sure...

Wow! I thought that this thread just farted and died! Imagine my suprise to see it up top.

Just to clarify...I didn't mean the three best albums, or even your three favorite albums. Just three albums that you think others should hear.

There are some great recommendations here. I'm currently expanding my music collection, so I'll be sure to check some of these out.

I'll add 3 more...

Jack Johnson - In Between Dreams
Archive - Londinium
Splashdown - Blueshift (see my other thread for free artist endorsed downloads)
