I got both my UPC-200 and Power Port today and installed them. My system is still not complete yet as im waiting for my VDA2 to get here, hopefully today maybe tomorrow. When I installed the UPC-200 I immediatly noticed a slightly lower noise floor and improved blackness. Not so subtle that i'd need to A/B but not huge either. When I replaced by 80C brass wall outlet later in the day, I noticed improved bass performance almost right away, but i havent listened long enough to make any other judgments. I've also got a really cheap Volex 17604 going from wall to UPC-200, but i've got a Super Power Punch coming on friday or monday. Overall im happy so far, since i've changed so many things at once though it's kinda impossible to keep a relative performance perspective. I no longer have my Dialogue II, currently going straight from X-fi's analog out. Even still, I noticed improvments, having my computer and amp connected to the UPC-200.

Nice to hear. Don't know the 14AWG Volex though. I found the biggest power cable improvement (to my power amp) was going from a standard RatShack power cord to a Volex. Moving from the Volex to a PS Audio Statement cable was harder to call.

Anyone know a good place to get a power port at a reasonable price?

I'd keep eyes out over at Audiogon. I've looked around a bit for PS Audio items in general, but haven't found any dealer/store selling them below the retail.

EDIT - I've thought about replacing the receptacle with a Power Port as well, but I haven't gotten around to asking my landlord if I could do that or explaining why I'd want to do that.

Eh? i wouldent bother asking landlord honestly, it's a pretty simple switch that takes about 5 minutes to do and undo. And it's completly UL certified, your not putting anything out of spec.

I honestly can't say i've been to impressed with the Volex 17604's. In my system, the Carol 10/3 and Belden 83803 easily best it. I just tried the 83803 on my UPC200.. much better. Another plug for Signalcable.. i've seen alot of online shops selling 83803 based power cords lately, and most of them charge more then Signalcable for the same thing. Like DIYcable.com for example. Redcoat = Signalcable digital reference.
