Thoughts about NAD?

This thread hasn't been active for years but I'll post anyway. I have an NAD 3020, 4020 tuner, Nakamichi 480 and DCM Time Windows that have been in boxes since 1999. I keep saying I'm going to set everything up but never get to it. My biggest fear is the condition of the drivers in the Time Windows. The grills are almost impossible to take off.

I think it's a respectable system after all these years.

I've had excellent service from my NAD components, including my current integrated amp.  I think NAD consistently gives great bang/buck...

admittedly I did not really read through this. I just wanted to say the masters by nad is serious stuff. I know for many it is already expensive but it is outperforming components costing 3x their prices. that says a lot because now we are talking about $15k components. I don't own any but I probably would be pretty happy with them. my feeling for the lower priced nad i'd go look at Cambridge too.

NAD has also made planar headphones in the past. See for example

Here is a review of NAD's latest 3020:

BTW: I own the receiver version of the old NAD 3020i, namely the 7020i as part of my loudspeaker rig.

Not sure if I'm too late to add to this thread or what the statute of limitations is in these situations. However, I too am an NAD lover. In high school (80's)I became interested in audio when a friend started doing high school dances and had some custom speakers made by the local "pro". He had a 1155 preamp he liked and a 3020 that I used for a while. I think that sealed my fate. Since, I have luckily found several pieces to try and like al most all of them. The 515bee, nice player, 320 bee, 325bee nice amps! I even am loving the t series receivers that weigh 40lbs.753,744. There are some QC issues if you can avoid them, but for me it's about the sound and they always are smooth, powerful, and better with 4ohm loads than most which work well on the original klipsch fortes. Nice work through the years NAD

Thread is alive as long as there are people posting I'd have thought. Anyway when I use my NAD 3130[ rather than just my Chord Mojo to Hifiman HE400 ] it improves a fantastic sound by increasing the sounddstage, seperation, imaging and airiness and more. For £57.00 inc P@P on ebay it's a bargain.
