I have not heard any of the other Senns. However, my bother-in-law has the 580s. I will try to sample them at some point. He lives a few hours away though so might be a while. sorry!

It was the same with me. When I received my HF-1 (my first Grado), I didnt really like it all that much. They sounded shrill in the highs and the bass was non existant. But after 50 or so hours they are really starting to come into their own. I listen to them more than any other headphone I have now.
