There's a new Sheriff in town!

  I received these a couple of weeks ago and have burned them in and listened to them long enough to make a good first impression.
I would call these the FX1100 of the XX series. they appear to be fairly smooth over the entire sound range. They are everything they are supposed to be: A grown up bass iem. I find them a little large, like the FX1100, and not really comfortable for long periods.
   If you really wanted a FX ?XX that does not have a hard V sound signature and metal sliver treble, then these are for you. I use the ML Spiral dot tips

Can you throw them in the fridge for 20 minutes. My FX17 cable stiffens like it's taking Viagra. My FR100X does the same. I'm assuming the FX99X would give me trouble 3 months out of the year with added microphonics and working themselves out if I turn my head. FX17 can be worn over ear so are not so bad but the XX Elation are an issue and the 99X would be even bigger and heavier than those.

The ergonomics, better case, and elastomer cable made me try the new Elecom top bass model first.

@Jant:
Just as you said, admirably stiff. They are relaxing at room temp quickly though.

Yep, just as I figured. Thanks! Maybe one day they will change that sheathing :)

   Finally, Right?
What about the HA-FD7 iem and the HA-SD7 Over ear? and the HA-FW7 micro woodie that you wanted? Where's the HYPE?

Might help to rename or append the thread title w/ model names- word will probably spread a bit more now approaching reasonable prices from exporters and showing up on non JP Amazons, guess they've finally hit that saturation point.

Didn't realize there was an FW7, probably would have ordered that, really liked the 850, a micro driver JVC woodie would be awesome.

With the ifi IDSD they are an absolute cracker.

Still have the Futuresonics G10?

Just received a pair of these JVCs. So far, these blow my Sony XB90EX headphones out of the water. The highs are sharp and detailed, the mids are smooth, and the lows go deep with authority. Money well spent. :blush:

Hi PsychoS, I'm listening to the XB90EX's right now (love them) but ever since the HA-FXT90's I've had a weak spot for JVC. The FXT200 and FX750 did not work for me though. Could you be a little bit more specific in your comparison to the Sonys and perhaps one of the JVC's I mentioned, if you have any experience with them..? Also, what kind of music do you listen to? What source? Sorry for all the questions, just trying to get a sense of the sound signature.

Cheers
