Mind you had I discovered your solution.......:)
It's not ideal, but more price appropriate.

The headband itself needed some work for it to fit properly. Mainly bending. Quite a few screws came stripped, which wouldn't even be a problem if not for the fact that the headband came assembled.
Total it cost me €60. So far.

The problem is the arc assembly yokes are made of plastic, so pretty weak and will break easily. The Mk2 arc assembly yokes are made of aluminum, so these should be strong enough to work with more clamping force. I have ordered a Mk2 arc assembly for this reason (for my modded Lambda Signature), even though it's quite expensive.
yeah i’m not willing to spend much on them considering they’re low in the line up from a good few years ago (i’m not actually sure how old the sr-202 is). I only paid $400 for the system ($270ish USD).

Edit: on annother note would anyone happen to have measurements of the sr-202? I can’t find any reliable graphs online.

Thanks, I figured it was around that time. Mine came with the SRM-252II, which i think was a bit later in its production run?

As far I can find the SRM-252II came out in 2006.

When I do my stax history research I default to following in order:
1. https://stax.co.jp/product_history/
2. https://stax-international.com/company/product-history/
3. http://audiohobby.pl/index.php?PHPSESSID=36671b73ea0c702e91bb563e72362ca0&topic=13775.
4. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Stax_products

Between those you can find 99% of the stax lore. The last 1% remains elusive.

ok cool thanks. there certainly is lots of lore.
Yep....Long before personal listening devices became the norm we went to audio shops to listen to these, Stax ELS-8X...the 70's were fun. : )

Stax Lambda NB (If you know, you know....)

Sooner or later I have to take out mines and give them a listen. They were my gateway drug to Lambdas but I stopped listening to them pretty soon as I started moving through the pro bias lineup.

Do yours still have the original foam? I was never able to measure its effects on nb Lambdas, but I did on pro bias models using 0.3mm foam and it cuts down the 1.5khz bump. I wonder how many of us listen to Lambdas without the foam, without realizing it affects the original tuning...

All stock on both. No issues with any peaks due to tubes in the chain.

I have…a lot of these. Well worth the $30 when they go on sale in the US (assuming they continues that in the face of tariffs).

Add a leather strap and now you’ve turned a great headphone stand into a perfect headphone stand.

All but 4 of my headphones are on these stands.
Great idea. Where did you get the strap and how is it attached?

They look like great headphone stands. I like the strap modification. I rarely use headphone stands, though I own a few, built an all-tube headphone amp in a frame that doubles as a headphone stand years ago. I'm seeing how i feel about using the SRM-300 as a headphone stand with a large plastic bag over it to keep the dust out.

My collection is far too vast. Sometimes i think about building a wall-mounted display case for the good ones with 30 or so hooks in it. It'd only have to be about 6 inches deep.
