L700MK2
So you did not like the 700 MK2. Could you explain why
Thank you so much
Don't get me wrong, I like l700mk2 the same as l300ltd.
The point is their sounds are similar but I can get a l300ltd with l700 earpad for only $500.

I owned L700, I also currently own L300LE, and I listened to L700MK2. My advice is L700MK2 is an upgrade to L700 in every way. L300LE while maintain L700 signature, they have less treble peak, more bass, wider sound stage.

Brightness: L700MK2 = L700 > L300LE
Sound-stage-size/depth: L300LE >> L700 >= L700MK2
Instrument-Size-Bigger: L300LE > L700 >= L700MK2
Accuracy: L700MK2 > L700 > L300LE
Refined-Treble: L700MK2 >= L700 > L300LE
Bass-amount: L700MK2 >= L300LE > L700
Bass-extension: L300LE >= L700MK2 > L700 (L300LE can goes really down with EQ)
Treble-Extension: L700MK2 = L700 > L300LE
Image: L700MK2 >= L700 > L300LE
Mid-forward: L700MK2 = L700 > L300LE
Details: L700MK2 = L700 >= L300LE
Value for money: L300LE (really you get 80% of 009/007 sound at 600$ !!)

Actually some L700 variants have very good bass and warm tone (z-reviews revision, some revision i heard in e-earphone akihabara shop)

If you are looking for warmer/wide-soundstage/more-bass/forgiving sound-signature get L300LE,
If you are looking for accurate/trebe-extension with bass/refined/more technical get L700MK2 (I think they sound like improved focal clear, or you can get that instead!! clear will have better dynamics but smaller sound-stage)

skip L700 because most variants fails in bass department ....

All differences are relative and L700 serial have similar signature, All from memory so YMMV

Thank you very much for this overview. I do not have the elements of comparison with the other members of the 700 stax family. I can just compare with my SRL 500. I bought a SRL 700 MK2 a week ago and I find it much softer and less focused on highs; more bass extension, more defined treble and above all more coherent. The only weak point would be the smaller soundstage. I am delighted with my new headphone.

OK I understand. I agree with you. Why spend 1500 $ if we can have th same pleasure with 700 $
And I think l500mk2 is a more insteresting option, it's sound is more balanced and the price is more reasonable though I bet the price will come down.

What do you think of l500mk2? I prefer l500mk2 more than l700mk2 becasue it has a more balanced sound than l700mk2.

50% sound in the left ear and 50% of the sound in the right ear :)

Thats balanced :wink:

LOL thanks. I know what balanced means. I wanted to hear if he was referring to the left / right balance or if he was using that term in some other way. :wink: He stated the L500mkII has a more balanced sound than the L700mkII. I own the L700mkII and I have no balance issues so I wasn't sure what he meant. I still don't know what he meant tbh. The way he said it sounds like he meant something different than just the definition of balanced. Maybe he is talking about the frequency range.
