Unless I missed it, there is no C 7 Tungsram date (although 7C exists).Correct me if I am wrong...I would guess this is made by Tungsram, Hungary.

Nope - it's a french made 6sn7. Relabeled by Brimar. These sound really good and quite scarce.Unless I missed it, there is no C 7 Tungsram date (although 7C exists).

My guess with be a Japanese made tube - I think I remember such codes on Japanese tubes.
Société de radio du Arles? What French manufacturer made 6SN7?![]()
Based on what I read now it is possible that this tube was made by Visseaux. And the reason it looks like a US tube becomes clear:What French manufacturer made 6SN7?![]()

You will love these. Very unique sound, analogue and full bodied. Absolute treasures.Pulled the trigger, even though I don't need more 6SN7... £30 inc postage
Why is it that Mullard (or Telefunken) never got into the 6SN7 market? They were a fair widely used tube at the time, so it always seemed odd to me that they never really got on board (I do realize that Mullard did have some 6SN7-like tubes, but the specs are different enough (ie. way high heater current) I'd consider them different altogether)Went ape-schiit on that one. Weird how Mullard never made a 6SN7 tube. Maybe that's why it's so *SUPER* Rare - it's from outerspaceEnglish Uzbekistan![]()
Yeah a little strange especially considering Mullard did make a 6J5. And even though ECC33 and ECC32 are fairly close (and better imo...) those tubes might not work properly in a lot of amps designed for the 6SN7.Why is it that Mullard (or Telefunken) never got into the 6SN7 market? When you say 6J5, do you mean a metal tube?Yeah a little strange especially considering Mullard did make a 6J5. And even though ECC33 and ECC32 are fairly close (and better imo...) those tubes might not work properly in a lot of amps designed for the 6SN7.
Yes, ECC32 and ECC31 are close in my view. Warmer than ECC33 which is the most transparent of them all. Of course, in my view ECC33 is the king and better than ECC31/32/35.Does the ECC32 trend to a warmer sound? I was really surprised with the ECC33 because it's a lot more neutral than I expected, certainly brighter than the TS 6C8G / 6SN7 BGRP.
