Good to know, thanks. Unfortunately my friends like myself are too old for such thingmajigs. I don't even use a 'smartphone'.

I worry about the unprotected glass protruding under the tube. It could break when I remove the tube from the double adapter next time. The grip in the socket is very firm so I have to use a tool to pry it loose. I guess this broke the key in the first place. There is a superglue, Permabond 920, that stands temps up to 250 degrees C. I will try to find this and also use it for a loose top contact.

If you don’t want to print (or can’t), there are commercial options for sale:

I would expect that to be more reliable than super glue.

Thanks for the link. I might go for these but they don't help me with that top contact. Shipping cost from US has become steep too.

Yeah, no help with the top contact. Just a fix for the missing key (and protection for the glass at the base).

I have Brimar branded Ken-Rad made 6J5GT/G that are completely silent, several pairs. My metal Ken-Rad 6C5 are also silent. I might be fortunate but if so, it is completely new for me. Do you mean 6J5G?
Had bad luck with both G and GT. Beyond 6J5s even. Bit of a love hate relationship with ol' Kentucky Radio in general I would say.

Well, guess I will share a newly acquired pair of Type 37s by way of gibosi, which I am giving them a first listen now - Philco mesh plate globe 37s - they sound as good as they look!

Running these very old single triodes with active plate loads (gyrators in this case) is a match made in heaven imho. The organic and dynamic nature of these triodes is highlighted even more from what I hear, except that it is a much more controlled reproduction of sound, with nothing sloppy or muddy, simply exceptional!

Finally received the mate to my Philco #37 mesh. Way too little listening to give any kind of meaningful impression but I have to ask: do yours kick like a mule in the lower bass? Wow.

Sorry, my picture is chopped liver compared to your enviable standard...

Cheers,
Robert

Nah, snag the Elrog TM first..........:open_mouth:
Funny you should say that. I literally popped my ER300Bs in about 5 min ago. I’ve been listening exclusively to my WE300Bs since I got them almost 2 months ago

Sorry no 6J5’s in the photo, MELZ 1578 driver tonight
