I have both the STC and Brimar shown here. They're very close. STC is perhaps a bit more romantic, a tad warmer that the Brimar. But, it's really, really close. Can only suggest you get both and decide with your own ears - to keep them both. Later spring for a pair of ST bottle as show above by @raindownthunda.
Perfect, cheers for the info. And for tempting me!

I have all but the Marconi. The GEC 10E /348 are truly Top Tier tubes with a beautiful sound as well as very nice detail! One of my favorites.
I believe the GEC 10E/348 is the earliest version, and I was wondering if this is correct?

I think those white label are some of the oldest (mullard.org lists one as "wartime production" here). But there are a bunch of other re-brands from the same era. The Marconi and Osram stickers, as well as Osram L63 w/o stickers are a few examples of the tubes from the early years. All of the M-OV/GEC L63 ST shape are identical construction, produced in the same Hammersmith factory.

I just saw an ad for these- guy is asking a little over $30 each. Not sure if that’s good, bad or worth it- can anyone provide insight on these?

I have a pair of these and my pair is used. It doesn't impress compared to my metal 6C5; Ken-Rad and RCA. But I don't know how my pair compares to NOS tubes.

That was my understanding as well. IIRC there was a discussion about it earlier in the thread.

Just the excuse I needed to pop mine in

Have you any experience with these GEC L63 10E/348? If so, are they warmer than the STC I have just bought - should I have gone with those instead... hmm!?

Regarding the price, you could pick up the same tube used for a third of that price, including shipping.
The problem is that as tubes are getting more scarce, you may have to buy them as singles.

The GEC L63 are definitely not warm, it’s a very linear tube. If you are going for warmth Brimar (or STC) are a safe bet.

Thanks dude. Put the wrong link BTW. It should have been these GEC L63, but I'll assume your statement still stands... Cheers
Yep. Those were the ones I just had in a few minutes ago. Statement still stands.

Thanks @mordy I recently purchased metal 6C5’s for roughly the price you stated (haven’t even gotten around to those yet) but thought it might be interesting to try the glass tubes. After considering what @triod750 had to say I think the money might be better spent elsewhere- maybe some of those 6c5c’s shown above!

Always remember that tubes can give different result in different circuits and audio chains...

You forgot about the different ear chains.. price may play the largest factor regarding this specific chain linked from one side of the brain to the other
