6C5 type tubes are some of my favourites but I'm listening to Charles Lloyd; 'Hymn to Mother' using another favourite number that fell into my hands last year or so. It's an ECC82/12AU7 made by Philips Copenhagen in 1950 and I can't describe how it sounds. It's always difficult for me to change it for something else. Right now it's pushing music through a pair of Tesla EL34. Proper post in this thread? No, but speaking the truth can't be wrong...

Well, you surpassed my setup… I only have 25 from dac to speakers.
I just hope nobody changes the rules of the game from "He who dies with the most tubes wins" to "He who dies with the most tubes in use wins." That would suck. Well, except for @leftside . 🤣

I've got at least 100 tubes between my DAC and amp on my desk, not counting the 4 in my amp.. i dont really notice much difference anymore these days when those roll around, sometimes on their own :upside_down::upside_down:
Just don't let them roll onto the floor! That's the worse kind of tube rolling.

Hey!
I know it’s getting late but can anyone offer opinions on these?

Probably the worst 6J5 ever produced. I know I said before there are no bad tubes in the 6C5/6J5/6L5/6P5 clan. Once again ECG Philli proves me wrong. 😲

A 6SN7, a really bad one with one section deactivated. Would sound better with both sections defeated.

But still... buy them! There's no reason not to vastly overpay (> 10 cents ea), because sonic enjoyment isn't everything. Sometimes you might want to not listen to anything. And these are among my 1st picks when I don't want to listen to anything. 🤣

Yeah, my $$$ into his pocket with no tubes…..😂
I really meant just to tell him that but doesnt mean you are going to do it.... 🤪 I think I am really cruel but hey, that's how you deal with these guys... :joy:  In my line of business, I have encountered numerous scammers and I had some fun out of them...

I asked a friend of mine if the 6S5S was compatible with 6SN7/6J5, which he replied no, I didn’t ask why! Maybe I will now.
The 6S5S/6C5C is the Russian equivalent to the 6C5. I don't see any reason why they wouldn't work, so I am curious to hear why the friend said that?

The specs definitely look the same to me. . .
