Headphoneus Supremus
I've been using iTunes as my go-to music player on my computer ever since I got an iPod about two years ago. While it runs great on my desktop, it really gets bogged down on my lower powered netbook. It also doesn't let me sync music to my Android phone, which is annoying.
I've been searching for a replacement media player for a while now and I can't find one that works the way I want. My requirements are pretty stringent, but here's what I'm looking for in a media player:
-Ability to stream music to another computer without some complicated server setup
-Ability to sync music between computer libraries. That is, if I add a song to my desktop PC, I want to be able to transfer the song over to my netbook over a LAN. iTunes does a wonderful job of this.
-Sync both iPods and Android devices
-When syncing to my Android phone, I would like all my .m4a files (ALAC) to be transcoded to some form of MP3
-Last.fm scrobbler support
-Unicode support for foreign characters
-Ability to not sort playlists. This is a weird one, but I playlist all my music based on broad genre, and I place albums in these playlists in whatever darn order I feel like. That's just the way I like doing it. Also, it's easier to remember that "冒険でしょでしょ?" by 平野綾 is about halfway down my playlist, than actually having to search for the file by artist or whatever.
So, does anyone have experience with such an ideal player?
I tried Winamp, but it kept crashing on my Windows 8 x64 machine.
Foobar2000 tries to sort my playlists by track number or artist or something, which is a no-no...
