What are the kc06a's like when driven through an amp? Do they have a lot of headroom in the bass department and are there any other sonic changes other than volume?

at home I listen to everything through my e18, and at work through a galaxy 1 (has wolfson chip). There isn't a huge difference but just like many and almost all iems, an amp will tighten up everything a little bit

Awesome! Nice write up.

If you ever get the chance to do the "kc06 cover nozzle vent hole with tape and then small pin prick to increase sub-bass" mod, and then compare the sound with the kc06a's, you would have a captive audience!

No problem, I also love my tenore which sounds reference, also I will be getting my havi b3 pro 1 Monday as well as my altone200 on Tuesday ...i will also order the kz ed3 and ed special edition

+100 !!!  I did a short listening session today with all my IEMs, and KC06A still went ahead of everything I currently have.  Their sound signature hits the sweet spot in every possible way!  Will be curious to put them against VSD3 once I get it in a week.
 
Btw, Ostry guys told me they are already working on a few new headphones... with removable cables

I am planning to go for either the kc06A or altone 200. I already have the kc06 which I like, i fear that it just sounds like kc06 but with better bass and sub bass. I have been really interested in the altones because of its good impressions so far.Hmmm I need to sell my ax35 to fund for this purchase lol
