I understand completely...you have every right to look into those things given it's a big investment. I would only add that the pads and cups are huge and totally envelop the ears. Seems to cover half my face too....lol. Funny because I looked in the mirror with them on yesterday for the first time and they are ridiculously huge. I would never wear them outside the home. So I am not sure seal will be an issue at all.

lol, well at least that is reassuring having those huge cups.

With current pre-order, that puts it pretty close around $1400 again - VAT...

I've got a pair for sale for 1999 only.

Also interesting this technical interview: http://www.sony.jp/headphone/special/park/products_m1/tech6.html

Quite interesting, especially about the progress from the R10 and Qualia. And how tricky it was to make the cups.

English auto translated is tricky tho

Great article ...so easy to take for granted the work and technology that goes into creating the Z1R. Very impressive stuff and makes me appreciate it even more.

Indeed. A lot of attention to detail.

Their last high end was 12 years ago and it seems they took their time with many aspects of development. Frankly, you can tell from the moment you open the cardbox.
