The Source AV is the first Reseller selected by Sony in the US to provide the new Signature products.
The Launch strategy and inventory delivery should be fully understood by tomorrow. I just came back from RMAF and needed a couple days to catch up on these detailesWhen do you think you will be getting them in?

If possible, I would love to sign up for that. I got some old but legedary Sony gears that can be used for comparison.
Great finally meeting you Mike.
I must have listened to the Z1R's a half dozen times at RMAF this weekend and I really liked them. I found the Z7's too soft, bassy and rolled off in comparison, but still a fun listen. The Z1R's do indeed take things to a whole new level. They do retain the darker/warmer signature, but the bass was not as boomy, certainly quite a bit more tight and the treble was still on the darker side, offered a very natural presentation. The soundstaging was incredible; especially considering they are closed headphones. The construction was a bit lacking for a headphone in this range for my tastes, but the comfort was outstanding!
In the end, I think I'd recommend the MrSpeakers Ether Flow C over these headphones. Not only are they less money, they are more neutral / natural overall and offer a more transparent presentation. But I was really impressed with both headphones. Heck the new Audeze LCD-XC's have been re-voiced in 2016 and I finally got to here them and I was VERY impressed. Really good times nowadays that we have such an excellent selection of closed-back headphones and we no longer have to sacrifice sound quality for noise isolation.
So the Z1R has a darker signature than the Ether Flow C? If so, the Z1R seems like it would be more to my liking. How were the mids?
I currently use TH900. Wondering if z1r is better on medium frequency. TH900 is a bit backward on this range.
