Wow. Vented, but not leaking as much as a closed can... some things are changing lately. Or the Z1R leaks like no closed can this side of the TH900...
Anyway, the design approach, materials and goals make the Eikon it more desirable to me than the Z1R, but if the Z1R sounds better, it wins. I can listen to the Z1R, but not to the Eikon, so I am looking forward to that comparison.

I believe the sound is really determined by personal preference. The tuning of Z1R is hated by a number of my friends but there are someone who actually really likes it. The tuning of Eikon might be more acceptable to a larger group of audiophiles.

Woah...not trying to sound aggressive, but how?  And where...if someone has compared alrdy?

I think the Eikon's good isolation is due to Zach's internal baffle design, but don't quote me on that.

I'm sure some people at the Chicago meet could answer this as both were in attendance this past weekend.

Just got my Z1R delivered.
Couldn't wait and plug it in, and wow, the low bass is much impressive than my HE-1000 V2, and the mid is more intimate.
This is a sweet headphone that is surely a keeper.
Oh, BTW, my sn# 31xx, and I have engrave address on it.

I mentioned it earlier, I pre-ordered from am.zn.UK. it is under USD $1400.
For 1 and 1/2 months of waiting.  It is surely well worth it for that price.

How did you get them cheaper than when i ordered them ? My total with express shipping was $1520.00 with today's currency exchange. Pound value was 1,149

I don't know yours, but mine had been lowered once after I placed my order while waiting.
Amazon sent me an email said that I saved :
Code:
 [b]Lowest price before release date: £1,284.48 [/b]
This is before VAT deduction. and they removed my shipping charge.
