Congrats guys, enjoy the 445. What 45 tubes are you using prep?

I am going on holiday today, will be missing the 445 a lot. But on the other hand when I return I will have both the AMR and MSB Analog to compare!

I'm using Sophia Electric 45 mesh plate w/ ceramic base and EML 45 Mesh plate.  Would like to try out the EML Solid Plates as well.

Do you have the Duelund caps in the AMR?  The AMR is not as good with hi res stuff.  It really excels with red book 16 / 44 or 24 / 44 files.  Anything higher than those it will use the other DAC chip.

Enjoy your vacation lojay :)

to answer your question, I'm using 45 Mesh EML.

and... I ordered some transfos cover to see how they can improve the look of my 445.

I ordered here 2 black and 2 "alu finish" to compare.

I have listened to the MSB Analog DAC for about 2 days now. I also have a NOS pair of WE 417A in the house.

I think my old pair was defective. The WE 417A NOS pair is very resolving and not muddied like my old pair. I now prefer it to the 6C45Pi as it takes off a bit of the bright edge off the MSB Analog - yes the MSB is brighter, more forward and resolving than the AMR DP777 but at the same time a lot smoother and without any (and I mean any) digital glare. The smoothest DAC I have heard so far. I am also using the vintage UX245s with the WE driver tubes as it gives me the best combination with the MSB.

Will be giving my impressions on the MSB Analog in the MSB Analog thread.

.
Do you hear any mechanical hum from the transformers (would be interesting to know how it works with 220V) or any hum / hiss with high sensitive headphones ?
Thanks !

It is a 220 volt version.  No hum/hiss with mt TH-900  (I have not tested IEMs yet). No hum from transformers, except during the 10 first seconds of start-up...

And for information, here is a picture of the back :
