100% agree!

They've got their own record company, Rumraket. A lot of good stuff on there, among others Erik Levander.
His 'Kondens' comes highly recommended. Probably not 'prog' though. More like electronic/acoustic abstract landscaping.

Lars Horntveth is the main man behind Jaga Jazzist and here are his solo works. 'Pooka' is pure prog jazz fusion and 'Kaleidoscopic' is primarily classical with the Latvian National Orchestra. Both are stunningly fantastic albums IMHO.

And talking of Jaga Jazzist, they have a new album out, 'One-Armed Bandit'. It is out and out funky jazz fusion prog. I would rate it as their most accessible album so far and I am loving it......

Any fans of the Finnish band Sonata Arctica?

Hmm, not entirely certain about this one. Seems less coherent and properly thought-through than what they've made before. I actually found it a little boring.
I don't have a favourite album, they've all got parts which really can give me goosebumps, except this one, apparently.

There is loads of Sonata Arctica on Spotify, so thanks for the tip.

Limpidglitch, I had plenty of goose bump moments with 'One-Armed Bandit' and it has stayed on my regular playlist. Since you like (some) Jaga Jazzist try the British band Red Snapper.

Brilliant list KBerube80, but could you add in a bit about each band and their styles and influences.

Anglagard's music is not easy to get hold of. The best I can do is a bit on MySpace. I really like their traditional 1970s prog sound. Out of your list another more traditional band Trettioariga Kriget are fantastic.

Gosta Berlings Saga, from Sweden. Cool prog, a whole new genre!

This is pure, dramatic, symphonic prog at its best

A.C.T. have a few good songs but seem to be hit-or-miss with me. They definitely carry a pop influence.

Prog Rock Man - I am sure that you are a member of Prog Archives?

Wobbler
Gargamel
Morte Macabre
Moon Safari
Landberk
Sinkadus
Black Bonzo
Simon Says

Anglagard albums are indeed hard to find and, when you do, rather expensive. Hybris was actually re-released in 2008 and can be found for a relatively good price nowadays. Before that, you'd have to shell out hundreds!
