Some nice programming-experimental, or sonic-art, whichever you prefer.

I'm using my new ATH-A2000X headphones, and enjoying [all kinds of] music more than ever.

Did you try his collaboration with Alva Noto called Cyclo. ? It's proper stuff.

I'm still not getting what the genres in the thread title exactly mean. But it seems like dark ambient / IDM will do?

Oh, glad I am bumped into this thread, because everything else is poisoned with wubstep and mainstream house.

I want to offer you to listen duet of two finnish magicians, which neglected modern computer music producing technologies and even made some of their sound samplers themselves. I remember reading somewhere, that they are world's most loud electronic band.

Awesome to see a thread like this pop-up here.  I'm fairly inexperienced when it comes to hi-fi, and it's only recently that I'm in any sort of position to change that, but I could post on this topic for a very long time and never run out of things to post. I still listen to a bit of goth, darkwave, and EBM, though considerably less so than I did in High School, and admittedly like a lot of dubstep and electro, but it's fair to say that my tastes run pretty heavily toward the noisy, experimental side of things.

Equipment-wise, I'm still getting a feel for the sort of sound I'm really looking for, but I've been listening on Thinksound Rain IEM's that came yesterday, through an Echo Audiofire 2 interface. Nice, warm, and intimate sound that reminds me a lot of listening to vinyl, and despite comments about them being unsuitable for electronic music, I'm finding they work really well for this sort of material. I hadn't expected to like them better than my EH 350's, so it looks like the next upgrade will be to find a pair of full-size cans with a similar sound signature, along with a decent amp. Yay for being employed again.

I haven't "discovered" too much lately, per se, but I've got a few goodies on their way to me right now, including the new Inade "Antimmon Pnuematos" box set.

I'd kick myself if I didn't start my recommendations off with Haus Arafna. They don't have any official videos, and they don't play live, but thankfully, they've become a bit more widely known than they were 10 years ago, so it's pretty easy to find people putting their stuff up.
