Why June? Is he taking that long? His website says 14 working days.
No it takes less than 2 weeks to do but @gerelmx1986 is going on a months holliday so I’ll be doing burn-in for him and then send it to him when he is back

Some of the original guys who own the 1z, have you thought about or gone through battery replacement and if so do you have a guide?
Mine seems to be dropping charge quickly these days :frowning2:
I thought about it but mine still holds a charge for 17 hours FLAC playback with some screen time, no DSP. If I can find a guide and know which battery to buy I would, but I believe it needs to be soldered.

Yes it requires soldering and removing of the faux leather back with a heat gun before you can access the screws to remove the back plate

Which one sounds the best?

(I hope you say the visitor because my WM1A is in for the EXPm5 mod now)
Have not listened yet, still in burn in process. I’m doing burn in for @gerelmx1986 while he is on Holliday and will send it to him the end of this month. At about 120 hours so far. Mine is a 1Z but with a 2.5 modded 1A board as my original board died in a battery leak after the first mod (Nayparm got a batch of bad batteries) with about 1.000 hours on it (don’t use it much any longer as I travel very little since covid).

I have the 1A and I got the batt replaced in Dec '23.

I happened to still know the guy from Music Sanctuary (Singapore), which carried out the initial K-Mod all those years ago, and he obliged. Sony still carries the parts and he ordered a batt off them (handed me the receipt from Sony) then did the batt swap. He's very familiar with the innards and said it was an easy job. So I reckon you can do the same if you can find someone in your location who ca do the swapping out for you.
