The new iRiver imp500 ?

I already have a 350. What I'm more interested in is what appears to be a HD mp3 player. If Iriver can make a great windows HD player: Even, dare I say it, as good as the IPOD, for under 300, I'd be greatly interested. No, actually, better - I'd be sold.

Hey a man can dream rite?

I believe that when they say that they squeezed 70 hours out of a "fully loaded" unit, they meant that not only did they use the gumsticks, but the external battery pack as well. I heard that somewhere else too. So in actuality, you should subtract about 10-12 hours from that 70...still not bad though. Even if it was 50 hours, that'd still be much better than the existing 12 hours.

What do you think that little device next to the imp-550 on that pic is? Right, that's a HD player.
Don't know if it's any good, but it is promising!

I want that HD player. It looks like it can give the IPod some serious competition, and that means lower prices.

Forget about the IMP500.

Go with the 350 or 400.

They are all the same. I love my IMP350. The new 500 is not going to be as great as everyone thinks it is.

And just how would you happen to know that?
