been waiting since like mid year 2013 @_@

Nah, that doesn't count - the delay is from 1st of January this year, so less than 3 months. Otherwise what can we say about the Fiio X3 - that it was delayed like 3 years? Now that's a long wait and 3 months are nothing in comparison LOL

At least Fiio speaks to their customers on here.

Well, that's cool and I personally appreciate it but companies aren't obliged to do so, especially Vsonic, which is not particularly concerned about international customers and that's their right. They still make the bulk of their sales in China and are doing fine without too much PR, so they probably don't feel the need to start now. They have local dealers there, so I guess the Chinese customers can have some sort of the communication we're looking for here in the sense of release dates, pre-order prices and such. I mentioned Fiio just because people forget about thir product delays just because they get to communicate with James directly. I guess that's why even though James said something about going streaking if the X5 isn't released by the end of last year and it's still not available for international customers 3 months later people here aren't complaining but it's technically the same thing as what Vsonic's doing - delayed ETA with the difference that Fiio gives explanation for it but that still doesn't mean I didn't want X5 for Christmas as originally promised.

I really wouldn't have gone there :) V7007/GR08 due Feb 2012 and still not here, VSD7 due October still not here. Vsonic is the undisputed king of missed deadlines. VSD3 is just the latest in a long line that started with the RS07Pro that showed up as the GR07 many moons after it was supposed to.

Besides DAP's are a different beast with many more components and multiple suppliers making it at least a bit more understandable than earphones.

That's undeniable although I wouldn't comment on v7007 as it was always mainly an idea and I think even Vsonic's CEO stated it was just sort of a project to see if they can manage to do it and that it might never be manufactured even if finished. To be completely fair only the VSD3 had an official and advertised release date - everything else was like "Oh, we have VSD7 and VSD9 in development and they're almost ready but we'll be waiting for the right time to release them", "Btw, there will be portable headphones probably released sometime in October followed by full-size cans in November", "And as we don't have enough products in development that we can't possibly manufacture in the set time frame, we'll be developing portable DAPs and tie our money even in more projects, so we can't finish even one of them" and stuff like this - definitely annoying but since Gr07 BE they were actually kinda on schedule with most of their releases like vc02, r02 silver, vsd1, vsd1s and I think the delays really started at the end of last summer with vsd1 LE delayed first and that probably caused the gr07 Classic delay, which might have been extended by Vsonic expecting to clear the stock of gr07 much faster and so on. IMO they most likely just don't have the manpower currently to manufacture and properly test everything in time

The V7007 was an idea that was reported be released on both Feb 25th and then later by ClieOS as May 1st but as the GR08. But this is all more about the announcing of things and talking by the CEO as much as anything. So, I think it is fun when people bust on them. They probably wouldn't just like James and FiiO who have good relationships so even if they fail to deliver on time people are more forgiving. Of course sometimes we get FiiO stuff delayed by making James rethink and change some things. It is more about the involvement and the attitude so Vsonic makes their bed and get the comments they get.

Well, as I said I wouldn't use v7007 as an example coz AFAIK there were issues with certain patents and Astrotec as I remember Vsonic's CEO was mad at Astrotec about the AX60 and some ripped off designs and stuff.
Anyway, of course, it would have been nice if Vsonic's CEO was as engaged with the international community as James is but he isn't and we can't make him. The new iems might be on the verge of release or he might not be taking too much heat from the community about the delays and that's why he hasn't given an explanation on weibo by now like he did recently in reply to the allegations that Gr07 classic doesn't have the same drivers and diaphragms as the original Gr07.
