The New Enleum AMP-23R Amplifier (Successor to Bakoon AMP-13R) Thread

Well I tried the pairing, but only for a short time (less than 30 minutes). One thing for sure is 23R provide thicker leading notes, with some "extra' sweetness in Vocal as well. 23R is a transparent amp with good black background, so it's still sound clear as TT2 direct, while deliver stronger "dynamic" feel.

Could I ask if you used the Xlr outputs on the TT2?

No, I used the RCA out (as it's supposed to be similar the headphone out's sound).

I'm rarely use XLR out, unless I want to drive something like Susvara direct.

I'm aware that this is slightly off-topic, but I just took a look at the photo gallery in your signature. That's a lovely work, just saying :)

I decided to pick one of these up to drive my Klipsch Forte IV in my living room, very excited to give it a whirl. I am coming from a super integrated though that had dac/streamer/etc all built in, so have to put some consideration into my DAC pairing. I use Holo Audio May KTE in my reference system, but it is my understanding folks find that pairing a bit hit or miss with this DAC. Does anyone have experience pairing ESS-based DACs with this? While they would not generally be my first choice, I am considering the Hifi Rose 150b to preserve all the streaming/HDMI ARC/etc functionality I got used to with my previous amp. It runs an ESS 9038 in it, but folks talk about it being implemented in a way that is a bit warmer/more natural than you would typically expect from ESS DACs. Although I have had less trouble in the past with ESS being clinical, and bigger concerns about flat staging. Anyway, would love any recommendations folks may have in this space!

Additionally, any power cords folks have ended up liking/finding were good pairings both sonically and to ensure they are not so bulky/stiff they are pulling the unit over?

Excited to be joining you all in owning this stellar little amp. I have never been a planar guy, but excited to try some of the headphone pairings people have been raving about with this one as well.

To this day still one of the favorite amps I've owned and wish I could justify keeping.
I was not a fan of the pairing with the Spring 3, went too smooth for my tastes.
What's your budget for the DAC? And what are the must have features?

No must have features for the DAC really, if I am not going with a streamer/dac/preamp sort of solution like the Hifi Rose 150b, then I will likely use a Bluesound Node so I can integrate HDMI ARC (this is a living room setup and I don't think I can give up HDMI ARC after getting used to it).

I would say long term budget is under $5k-ish, but honestly if anyone has any suggestions down in the more budget tier that would be good initial pairing to try out before I plopping down that kind of cash I would love to hear them. I was kind of hoping we would get news about the Enleum DAC soon.

Rockna Wavelight (new or used) would be a great pairing in your budget or if you can get your hands on a used Wavedream even better (used).
If you can stretch it a bit more perhaps the Weiss 501 or 502 (both used) and you'll get the streamer and DSP capabilities.
Can't recommend anything with ARC sorry. No need for preamp since the Enleum is an integrated.

The Holo May KTE with the 23R driving my Klipsch Cornwall IVs are a great match. I use an Aurender W20SE streamer/server as a source to the May KTE. For streaming, I have a Sonore Optical Module Deluxe sending optical ethernet to an Etherregen with an external OCXO clock with all of them having their own linear power supply. The system sounds great. I also have a Rega P10 turntable and Luxman EQ-500 phono stage. This is system #2 in my basement. My main system is upstairs.

Congrats about your purchase. As for DACs, if I were you I'd first get really used to your system with Enleum and that May KTE DAC you already have. At some point sound aspects to upgrade/change will reveal themselves and once that's done, then I'd ask here on HF about ideas how to move from there. I'm writing this because the odds are that you'll enjoy May KTE with Enleum just about enough to keep it :)

Thanks! I should have clarified, the May is actually used in another system (blessed to have two very nice systems both for personal and family use). I certainly will try out the May at some point, but ultimately will need to find a solution for the Enleum+Klipsch system specifically. Lots of experimenting ahead I suppose!

Yes, there's lots of possibilities for you considering that Enleum and high-efficiency Klipsch speakers most likely make primarily fast, direct and open sound. The question is whether you'll be any interested in having it any thicker and heavier or not. Knowing the answer is going to be useful in steering you in the right direction :)

There's a few of these in the classifieds, just wondering what went wrong?
