The New Enleum AMP-23R Amplifier (Successor to Bakoon AMP-13R) Thread

There certainly is if your speakers aren't very efficient. Furthermore, for the price of the Enleum, you can get a great speaker amp and a great headphone amp. Separate amps will certainly have a larger footprint, but needn't weigh anywhere close to 40 kg in total. OTOH, if you have efficient speakers and love the particular sound of the Enleum, it may well be your preferred option.
Yes, the speakers are efficient. Klipsch RF7 iii at 100db.
Thanks for the input!

It's not weird; it's objectively bad.

I own the 13r and can say unreservedly that it is outstanding with the susvara..I havent heard the 23r but cant imagine it is dramatically better or worse

Hey people,
I've been giving the Enleum a trial spin here and i must admit that i am dazed and mostly confused.
Before receiving it, my only concern was- will it drive my Klipsch RF-7 iii floorstanding speakers properly? After all, "The Enleum 23r is powerful enough to drive Susvara with ease".
In reality? Couldn't have been further than my expectations. Enleum drove the speakers with no problem. Volume was at around 12 and was shaking the walls. Sounded great too. But- it did not drive the Susvara to my desired listening volume. Compared to the Enleum, my Flux Volot had more volume at 1.5 on the dial (that's where i'm usually at) that the Enleum had at maximum volume.
In other words- unless i'm doing something wrong, i cannot use the Enleum with the Susvara and will not take it.

Any thoughts? Tnx.

you're probably on the low gain mode in the amp, look at your manual on how to change that with the remote

Interesting. Unfortunately, i don't have the manual and especially the remote here at present. Hopefully, i'll be able to get them from its owner tomorrow. Thanks!
Here's the manual. I can't remember if you can do it without the remote and I don't own the amp anymore but thought I'd share it just in case.

Without a remote, there is no gain control.

Even the current gain is not displayed. I think it's a fatal flaw of 23r.
Agree. It's ridiculous there is no actual gain control on the amp.

I feel like it's the same level as most amps that have the gain control at the back of the amp. I wish more people put the gain control (and power) at the front of the amp.

Gain control is useful, but it's not something to change often. In most cases it'll remain untouchad after setting it once. On top of that we also have aesthetics. Some manufacturers (not us though  want just bare minimum of buttons and knobs on their products, which is understandable too.

Sure, if you are making an assumption people within the audiophile hobby owns 1 headphone. If you do a consensus of head-fi most people have different setups that can benefit from gain control who consistently change their headphones to figure out what works best for them. It’s quite frustrating to have to change my gain control when I switch between u12t/6xx versus Susvara/TC.
