Responding to this made me realize how much comedy is central to my tv viewing. Sorry I couldn't bring myself to follow the rules.

So here are three lists, not in any order. Gawd, I am a geezer! Very personal choices--these are my top shows not the top shows.

Comedic Skits/Variety
Your Show Of Shows (Sid Caesar)
Monty Python's Flying Circus
The Ernie Kovacs Show
The Ed Sullivan Show
Texaco Star Theater (Milton Berle)
In Living Color
70's Saturday Night Live

Situation comedy
The Wonder Years
Third Rock
I Love Lucy
The Mary Tyler Moore Show
The Honeymooners
Mork and Mindy “Nanoo nanoo”
Fawlty Towers (outstanding superiority humor)
The Phil Silvers Show
The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis
Dinosaurs “I’m the baby. Gotta love me.”

Not blatantly comedic
Perry Mason
Star Trek – original
Star Trek - NG
Gunsmoke
Have Gun Will Travel
Hill Street Blues
The Twilight Zone
The Untouchables
Desperate Housewives (dark humor)
Alfred Hitchcock Presents
What's My Line? (witty)
