What are your top 3 IEM's or headphones that you purchased or picked up since Summer 2024?
Mine are the:

1.) Thieaudio Origin
2.) M5E Bass+
3.) JM Audio XTC Open

Eyes on Omega, Raven, Alter Ego, Clara, Spectrumica, Camelot, and a handful of others.

Edit: Just realized you were asking specific people - oops.

I hope the Elite will do the same for my IEMs lol. Just wasn’t sure tubes was the sound I wanted… saga balanced is totally different than the crispy Libra… Saga is purely musical and liquid in its tone. ZVX pro is like a Libra X but with better details and much better bass. Both those are not as musical as the Saga. Zenith is somewhere in between. Further testing may result in more culling of cheaper single DD IEMs
Very easily answered....YES. The DCE (which I spent last night using) elevates IEMs in the same way that the Nun's do, only without the tooby goodness, and with more bass emphasis, and less treble emphasis, but yes, the DCE is a BOSS elevator of performance too.

God I hope I get to attend SoCal this year! Sunday September 14th is actually my son's birthday so I definitely won't be able to attend both days but 1 would be great. I really want to socialize more this year and talk to more fellow audiophiles to build my community ties. I agree with @warrenpchi that 1 day just isn't enough, especially for the first time. I did just 1 day last year and it was a whirlwind of going set to set without much pause to enjoy or talk to friends. I'm glad that I was still able to meet some great people like @Jaytiss and @MakeItWain. I saw @EnigmaFotos there but was too shy to say hi at the time 😅.

My top 3 since summer 2024 (I'll do 2 categories)

Favorite to listen to:
1. AME Mousa (of course😁)
2. Empire Ears Triton
3. Letshuoer Cadenza 12

Most impressive:
1. Aroma Audio Fei Wan
2. Dunu DK3001BD
3. Letshuoer S12 2024

Ah the Omega , I love mine and sometimes forget how bassy it can be if you flick the bass switch. Those 3 tuning switches work better than any IEM i have tried.

Too bad my relationship with Penon went sour , I liked some of the Penon, Sound Rhyme, TSMR and ISN IEMs with the Warmer signatures.

Yep. Got matches with the Clara, Alter Ego, and Raven. I actually want to try the Omega, since it comes highly recommended by @ToneDeafMonk and @Leonarfd.

I want to see you there, buddy. That's FO SHO'! I also want to try the Triton and the Mousa, just because LOL Yeah, probably too much bass for me, but dangit, I wanna!! LOL The S12 (2024) is actually next on my list for play thru the Nunchaku. Currently it's the TRN ST7, and they sound like $200 IEMs thru TOOBS.

I'm going to make sure I get a chance to listen to the Omega at CanJam. I also want to listen to the Voltage, but I doubt Penon would be at CJ, so it would have to be by chance that someone has it personally where I might get a short audition?
You have such a mighty fine collection now. We kinda started together working our way up the mid-fi ladder at the same time, especially after I got over my gunshyness, from my disasters with the Dita Truth, Mofasest Trio, and JHA Roxanne, which was a well documented almost $3,000 flushed down the toilet (sure, I could afford it back then, and I did get about 70% of that total back selling, but STILL! lol), and we had so many hits one after the other. I've tried each one of those IEMs in your top list except the Tansio Mirai's. I'm want the K11 and the M5U, just to have.

@Sonic Sleuth - There's that Intime Miyabi mentioned again, that @Singaravelan loves so much. I've had their IEMs in and out of my cart so many times! LOL I just haven't PTT on any of them yet.

Wow, cool thread! 👍 Since summer I haven't bought much, I've been trying to enjoy what I have and decide what to keep and what to sell.
But three of my favorites I got during BF are:
1 MagicOne
-It does nothing weird, everything just sounds good and natural.
2. Sivga Que
-Pretty bassy (for me, I'm not a basshead) but it's a very nice chill set. Well worth it's money. Love the wooden faceplate as well.
3. Shozy P20
-I prefer this over MP145. Better fit and I like this tuning more. I hear less of that metallic timbre that planars often have.

Yes sir. You've missed out on some amazing IEMs from Penon, but yeah, Penon wouldn't pay me no heed either. I talked too much smoke about their pricing and their cables in the past LOL but I really want to get my ears on the Shock and the Voltage tbh.

@Okcerg - I loved the MagicOne thru my tube amps. They respond brilliantly to TOOBS.

That Shozy is always on sale, and looks great. I'm wondering if I should take a flier on that one?

Thanks for the compliment about the thread! Hopefully we can build momentum and keep it moving forward?

Ok, gonna throw down the first music rec of the thread! So here's what I'm listening to while we've had a very slow evening at work...

TRN ST7 > iBasso Nunchaku (Tube mode, NOS filter, High gain) > Hiby R3 II (transport) > iBasso CB-19 + power bank.

Dave Douglas - ENGAGE (2019). Really eclectic mix of jazz genres, with everything from contemporary to bop to swing to Chicagoland. Dave Douglas leads a talented band of musicians that includes Jeff Parker on guitar and Nick Dunston on bass. The ST7 plays it clean, warm, resolving, with airy transparency. This IEM sounds like it costs $200 out of the Nun.

Now DCE vs Nunchaku that's going to be a fun one for me.

DC-ELITE is magical and I am really loving the Nun still in honeymoon phase 😍 but have yet to do a a/b between the two,

I always find that the hardest part about sharing your impressions is the subjective observations you experience on your journey.

From a few days ago I said.

Tonight's listen IBasso Audio Nunchaku in tube mode and the Fabulous Vision Ears EXT MKII

I remember your review of the Fan 2, made me PTT. No regrets, still one of my favorite sets.
Don't know why Penon are so sensitive to criticism. Most of their sets are so good, I see no reason for them to behave like that.

I really have no plans, beyond two days of musical/audio bliss, spending more $$$ than I should, and meeting awesome people. Of course, no trip to NYC is complete without some NYC-style dining. I'm traveling solo on this trip, my wife and kids are staying home. I'm open to anything.

:joy: As one can tell from my badges, I've been to quite a few of them by now.

Seriously, go both days, one day is simply NOT enough - ESPECIALLY if it's your first time. The hotel that the show is being hosted at can be expensive yes, but that's because it's a luxury hotel. However, there are plenty of other hotels in the area that are way cheaper.

You'll be able to hear pretty much anything you want to hear. There are exclusive show specials that you won't find anywhere else. We have some world-class seminars. And you'll get to meet fellow Head-Fiers, some of whom you've probably spent years talking to on the site. You'll also get to meet Joseph Mou of Jomo Audio, and get to talk to him about all kinds of stuff.

The simplest way to think about it is this: CanJam is to a Head-Fier as Disney World is to a Disney fan.

I think the only drawback is that once you start going to CanJams, you'll stop wasting money on blind buys, restocking fees, etc. Some people actually like that. They like playing IEM roulette. But being able to hear whatever you want to hear before you buy pretty ends that.

These days, meeting up with the many friends I've made through Head-Fi is the main reason why I go. Some of them are my very best friends and favorite people in the whole wide world! :relaxed: As far as listening, I'll be working the show so it'd be a miracle if I got a significant amount of listening done, but I do want to get some ear time with Fugaku, Clara, DX340 and Nautilus if at all possible.

Don't forget to come say hi to me!:relaxed:

Haha, you're going to love that! @MakeItWain, are you coming too? EDIT: Oh wait, you're talking about SoCal later this year. Yup, Wain will be there for sure!

Please follow @warrenpchi 's advice. Also, please make sure you say hi to him, Warren is the nicest, sweetest dude.

I took the #TeamStarryNight a bit further and made it a stop.

Was just in NYC (just got home so I got a bunch of threads and messages to go through apparently) but can echo a few things that I got from some locals.

Katz Deli is pretty bomb but had the pastrami. Pizza at any shop nearby is pretty good. Bodega for chopped cheese anywhere. Had some hot sausages.

Dim sum in Manhattan was... Only okay. I think I missed out with not going to Brooklyn or Flushing for more of the Asian food Meccas but there's still some good stuff.

Potluck Club is dope. Also had Jiang Nan NYC. Both of those were freaking delicious. Potluck Club probably better to me.

Had bagels at Liberty Bagels at Times Square which was pretty dang good. Missed out on Keen's steakhouse but had originally wanted to try that place out.

But, yeah, I didn't get to come to NYC CanJam as the travel didn't line up for my trip. But will definitely be there for SoCal CanJam and will try for Dallas CanJam as well!

I noticed there were less posts to catch up on in the Discothread and wondered what the heck happened.

Well, here's my answer. Best of luck with the Newborn! Musicopia is a cool name.
