x2. Only other Radiohead that comes close is "Sail to the Moon." Packt like Sardines and Fog are other notable ones.

+1 It's such a simple song. No matter how many times I hear it, I get shivers on the back of my neck every time.

Crazy Diamond or Echoes are close contenders as well.

x2 probably my favorite 3 songs but its hard to call.

yeaaaa.. I love this one too.

A few of my choices:

"Love Letter" by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds

"Shine" by Slowdive (they have several that could qualify)

"Half-gifts" (accoustic version) by the Cocteau Twins.

"Ich bin Der Welt Abhanden Gekommen" by Gustav Mahler (translated, roughly, if my memory serves: "I have become lost to the world")

did I post in this thread already? I guess I'll find out..

THE FINAL CUT is amazing. I love "The Gunner's Dream" - that's one that gets to me almost every time..

Floating down.. through the clouds,
memories come rushing up to meet me now
But in the space between the heavens
And the corner of some foreign field
I had a dream
I had a dream
Goodbye Max
Goodbye Ma
After the service when you're walking slowly to the car
And the silver in her hair shines in the cold november air
You hear the tolling bell
And touch the silk in your lapel
And as the tear drops rise to meet the comfort of the Band
You take her frail hand
And hold on to the dream!!

oh man!! just thinking about it...

Kareen Antonn & Bonnie Tyler - Si Demain (for some reason I like the French version better...)

The most beautiful piece of music to me is Beethoven's Adagio from the 8th Piano Sonata. While it may not be the greatest or most profound thing ever written, it is the most simply honest and beautiful piece of art. I can't even type these words without getting slightly emotional about it. Some of you may know it as the Rondo from the Pathetique Sonata.
