yep..  i will compare them to my burnt in ones with the comply tips...  its like snap crackle and pop in my ears...  the curing process you can hear..  but so far i have the left done and the right ear is curing...   had to use a small piece of toothpick and tape to lay across the port hole to creat that space....   so far im pleased..   i will take pics soon..  but they re not pretty ...

messed up on the right ear,,,,  i thought i wasnt getting a good seal and removed it but it wouldnt stay together after that...   so they do stay in with no problem.. the left has a decent seal,, will have to redo the right once i get some more silicone...   seems to be worth it,, and the phones are able to slide in and out without problems..

stumbled on a pretty sweet pairing for the 8320's. A 2082 based cmoy. This chip is not what i'd call transparent but neither is it intrusive of bullying. Basically, its character fleshes out the 8320. The result is a better body with more resolution of bass and treble and even better balance with the mids. the naked-straight-into-source 8320 is a bit lean overall with a touch of stridency in upper mids and these issues are addressed with this amp.. Also as is known, the 8320 is not an impactful or punchy iem. I actually find this quality refreshing and it's not a problem for me, but I should note for those who feel otherwise, the 2082cmoy does not change this fact (although it does do wonderful things to the bass quality) In fact it pretty well carries on the qualities of the stock iem and the overall sound sig is still somewhat laid back except now it's more lush and full. How a chip can gives a subtle accurate tube quality is mysterious but this it does. just as important, the fairly simple cmoy with this chip doesn't introduce any odd or annoying qualities as many amps can do. The character it adds is more in background and presentation. Instruments and sound is placed better and it's an overall more musical experience that 'sends me out' if you know what i mean. The marriage is as close to pure synergy as i've come across. One can find this type cmoy on ebay for $30 and I highly recommend that little investment if any of the preceeding insights jive with yours.

burrbrowns were popular back when I was into car audio 10yrs ago.. I see that its still around .. I might look into this amp... I currently have the Fiio E11

to my ears, fiio sounds are more suit and tie whereas the cmoy in general and the 2082 in particular is jamaican beach laying......... One school of thought is to get in tune with a headphone's personality and give it what it needs rather than trying to make it into something it's not.

on paper, the 8397 based fiio does crank out some current, but but my listening impressions line up with this guy's when he states: "AD8397 has it's pros and cons. The pros are it's extremely lively, punchy signature .....The cons are it's very forward and harsh and tends to give listening fatigue."
 
I know some of you and dsnuts as well like the fiio/8320 pairing ...certainly the 8320/2082 is quite a different marriage than the 8320/8397
 
 
but I am just beside myself with this rig. including a flac player it's under $100 and i consider it desert island/deathbed quality sound

had to make some changes,,, but this proved to be a better seal for both ears,,, better seal than the complys .... the foams that im using are the ones mentioned in the previous page from amazon... these are the large tips

Hey guys, I just saw that there are now white and pink versions of the 8320 as well. They are the 9963 and 9960 respectively. Also, monoprice released another "Enhanced Bass Hi-Fi Earphones" (same name as 8320), but these have 10mm drivers and a microphone/iphone/ipod controls. The flat cable on it looks interesting. I looked through all their earphones, none of them use the 10mm driver. Also, it looks to be on backorder..
 
Anyone willing to try these out? I would, but I'm a total newbie and would have no idea how to review it

With more time I am starting to notice some of the shortcomings of these phones, but I definitely cannot deny how much I enjoy how accurately and up in your face the spring reverb on electric guitars sound with the 8320's.
