Checking out some Moon Safari. Apologies if you have heard of them, but if you like Moon Safari check out The Flower Kings.

A real mix of genres, electic, exciting, great stuff. Without sound similar they remind me of The Beta Band.

Isn't it brilliant when you stumble across a band, which has a back catalogue and you start to work your way through it and love it

I recently got turned on to Transatlantic - kind of a modern prog supergroup. I bought "Whirlwind", and I have to say it's very, very good. In ways Neal Morse's influence is very heavy, and it does sound a lot like Spock's Beard at times, but still I liked that record a lot. Good stuff for those who haven't tried it.

Hey folks, I'm looking for some headphone suggestions for prog rock listening (upgrading from Denon D2000). I've been considering Grado RS1i, but have recently been offered a pair of Alessandro MS Pros recently. I'm looking for something in the $700 retail range. Any suggestions are welcome.

In exchange, here are two modern prog rock albums I've grown to like:

Bryan Scary and the Shredding Tears - Flight of the Knife

Pure Reason Revolution - The Dark Third
