The Mod Collective: Bring all your full sized headphone mods here.

Thanks, but I was posting in other thread because of it’s focus on 3DPrinting. Here is a link for the great people here.

I was initially against the mod collective thread because:
1. I thought it would reduce mod info from the model specific threads causing others within those threads to grow ignorant of headphone customization to their individual preferences.
2. This thread would be full of unrelated models so that might become difficult to navigate for users seeking info on specific headphones.

But now on the other hand:
1. Many mods apply similarly to some degree to any headphone so this thread could be for learning in general.
2. A thread for people generally interested in mods whether they own the headphone model or not, like the vintage headphones thread.
3. People will still cross-post to the specific headphone model threads so there is not really an issue of devoiding those threads of mods.
Hello bro. How are you!

Hello bro. How are you!
What up Buido!
I am good, thanks. Youre keeping well I hope.

Not doing much music listening atm so current interest in hifi hobby is low though never abandoned because music is a life long passion.

I probably spend more time modding headphones than I do actually using them for music listening. Up next is Fiio FT1 with its 60mm flex-surround driver which is unique in the marketplace.

As for 3DPrinting Ive not made any new diy headphones very recently but will resume later at some point likely. The diy Sigma-style has awesome potential for soundstage and an out-of-head experience but my lack of skill and predicted cost for continued trial-and-error is too high for my casual interest. For now my basic diy Grado-style phones with 50-52mm flex-surround drivers are satisfying because they sound like Grados but with much improved bass.

I dont have the FT1 yet but soon. I spent a little much on other stuff so…

- Padroll
- The baffle appears to be very permeable which is interesting and am curious to hear.
- Im wondering if there is any venting and if not then I would like to add.
- Cup damping
- And finally front of driver filters in case treble cant be managed otherwise
- Perhaps 3DP cups later just because

Hi Phillimon. i'm running out of ideas with fiio's 60mm drivers. they're too big to fit in the cups of other headphones. and they also seem too big to take up wall space. do you have any new products???

Hello buidoimiennui. In the FT1 thread youll find that I started working on some mods but are now on pause as I loaned the headphones out. Im curious what experiments youve tried and where might I find that info. Sorry if I missed your posts in FT1 thread, I havent really read pre or post my brief participation.
