Sigh.... When I saw the title, I was about to open my wallet and purchase one. I'm serious. I tested one out, and loved it's sound. Honestly. Mere 50 dollars? The competitors are selling the product at 150 dollars cheaper with better features. How can they expect any sales out of this?


Sony just doesn't learn from their mistakes.

Yeah, sucks, I would love to give one a test run, but the price is definitely off-putting. For $50 less, I can get something that's double the storage, and I know what I'm getting, in the form of an iPod touch.

^ Yeah I agree.....and I doubt the price is going to drop much lower, knowing how sllllowwwwlllyyyy Sony drops their prices...at least here in Canada

I got my X from a headfier from England. It was only one week old and including shipping, it cost me around $370 CAD. I still beats paying $450 plus tax which would make it $508.50. If they had a version that didn't include the noise cancelling earphones, it would probably be a $100 cheaper.

The price and lack of flac support is why I got the cowon s9. Plus my long history of sony products has always ended with them breaking sooner than expected.

But for those who can't have anything but, I think this is a good deal:
