I've been listening to this spanish indie group for a while, Manos de topo.
Their first album was the best in my opinion.

I once load a player with 3 of their albums and ride my motorcycle South listening to just that until there's nothing but the Ocean in front of me. Took 21 days there and back. Still don't mind listening some more.
 
New album scheduled for 18th this month though.

I have plenty of love for the Band Of Horses. Their first three albums are indeed very addicting. I caught them in the act a few weeks ago and they played a couple of songs from their upcoming album, Mirage Rock.  I'm looking very much forward to it.

I have "Mirage Rock" in my shopping cart at Amazon. After a somewhat weak summer, there's a lot of good music coming out this fall...Calexico, Beth Orton, Black Prairie, Van Morrison, Woods, Cat Power, Mumford & Sons, Dave Matthews Band, Bob Dylan, another Neil Young, The Avett Brothers, Grizzly Bear...they just keep coming!

Absolutely, something to look forward to. I have actually been listening to "Mirage Rock" today, I have a pre-release Not sure yet where to place it vs. the first three albums since I like these so much. It doesn't disappoint for sure and the songs will grow on me as usual with this band. I do feel there's a significant change of pace/style, themes and references, although the Neil Young references are plentiful as always.

I'm back...the real world is keeping me busy! Good to know 'alt-J' has gotten some love from fellow head-fiers.
 
Last weekend, I discovered a single man band known as "How to dress well"...I tried out his new album "Total Loss" and I find it oddly refreshing despite he brings a certain level of sadness to some tracks. Somewhat a reminiscence of the nineties R&B music...hope you guys and gals like the tracks!

Best indie music:
- The National: "Alligator", "Boxer"' and... Maybe "High Viloet".
- Girls: "Girls" and "Father, son, holy ghost". What a great band are Girls!.
- My morning jacket: "it still moves", "Z" and "Circuital".
And if you consider Ryan Adams as indie, well almost all his lps.

I like a lot of Will Oldham's stuff. He has put out a lot of records under different monikers, such as:
 
"Palace"
"Palace Brothers"
"Palace Music"
 
and for quite awhile
 
"Bonnie 'Prince' Billy"
 
He has also put out a lot of records in conjunction with other artists. He seems to record under all these different names in an intentionally confusing way, but he is nothing if not prolific. Currently, he records under the name "Bonnie 'Prince' Billy," which he seems to have settled on for good.
 
I recently downloaded his 1998 album "I See A Darkness" from Drag City records:
