The more i read this thread the more i want to purchase a portable amp...
I'm leaning more and more towards selling my DX100 to fund a better amp for use with the DX50...
Anyone got a red warning flag on the screen ?
Suddenly sound popped and it shut down by itself.
Tried to restart but same issue after 2 seconds running.
The battery wasn't low...
You didn't trust the battery meter, did you?
Well by definition a battery meter serves to indicate the remaining charge of a device...
Is your M8 hissing problem with iem?
Thanks
Just curious and its no big deal but I have that new toy syndrome so can anyone on the US East give me a rough estimate as to how long it takes to receive from iBasso?
Yep, and on the DX50 it is absolutely not to be trusted with the current firmware. Try plugging in the charger and see what happens.
T.R.A.N.C.E. said:There is definitely a difference between 16-bit and 24 bit. By how much, depends on your gear and music you are playing. (Other factors also have impact e.g. noise isolation, tips, amount of ambient noise.
So far my setup is this
MBP - > Hifi-M8 - > Beyer T1 (balanced) / T-PEOS H-200 (silver cable with comply foam tips)
Ipod -> Hifi-M8 - > H-200
For the T1 the diffrence is substantial for me (e.g Soundstage is wider, separation of instruments clearer, bass has more punch and the slam has more impact. The mids a bit forward on some tracks but the vocals are definitely more clear and crisp. I hear more details in the highs and some tracks which sounded harsh on 16-bit got a bit tamed and clear.
For H-200, I have the same observations as above but not as pronounced especially on soundstage and separation. Also, if I have to convert my 24/96 tracks to 24/48 for Ipod but still there is a discernable difference.
So yeah there is defintely a difference and for some tracks the difference is big enough that I had to download a copy from HDTracks.
This is also the main reason I ordered the DX50 so I can enjoy hi res sound on the go.

But, If I had unlimited storage, sure I would use 24 bit <img data-cke-saved-src=" http:="" files.head-fi.org="" images="" smilies="" smily_headphones1.gif"="" src="http://files.head-fi.org/images/smilies/smily_headphones1.gif" class="bbcode_smiley">
