You always need to do a factory reset and make sure you got ride of the .img file from the last update.

I have firmware 1.5.0 and am able to play dsf files. I cannot play dff files.
Is this common with this firmware? Any suggestions on what I can do
to play the dff files? Any suggestions/comments will be greatly appreciated!

Cheers for that, the factory reset has fixed the media scanning. Strangely i never had to do a factory reset for the past 2 updates to work properly.

Hopefully in a future update they'll give us access to the DX50s onboard EQ when its in DAC mode.

It is hit and miss on not doing the reset. I just do it and then don't end up with any problems.

I find gapless working very well.

Yeh so far gapless playback seems to be working quite well with my mp3 and flac files. Switching back and forth between tracks is pretty smooth, theres maybe half a second delay between hitting the skip button and hearing the next track while the current track continues to play. Keep in mind these are only 16bit, 44khz flac files so i dont know if higher quality files will work as well.
Comparisons with the last update are proving tough, the latest update sounds better to my ears although i''m struggling to figure out exactly what is better about it lol. I may have to downgrade to the previous version to get a better idea.

Installed 1.6, has more bass, soundstage slightly wider.
Working well with my TDK200 but not so good with Piston, over bass with Piston need to reduce bass on EQ.

L/R feature, I don't need it . Thanks iBasso for update FW.

To my ear, the new FW is more dynamic, greater transparency, larger staging and in general, a cleaner sound. IMO.
