The iBasso DX50 Thread - Latest firmware: 1.9.5 - June 30, 2016

I got a question for all of you out there with the FW 1.2.8.

Did you have this problem: A song just finished, another started and the volume, all out of the blue, increased at a good pace to what seems to be max but when looking at the volume level indicator, it is no where close to max.
Fortunately I had my HD600 on so the volume got loud but not to the point of going deaf, I took them out nonetheless. I am not too happy about that.

Unfortunately I can't reproduce it all the time, it seems random. Not sure what to do at this point, maybe going back to 1.2.7 and definitively leave a message to iBasso.

edit: kept 1.2.8 and going through the LO/amp route again.

Same here - still amping with PB2 using balanced output.:)

+2 same rig here, ordered the DB2 as well. Going to experiment with a fully balanced configuration, can't help myself. If anyone is interested, I picked up a cheap spare battery charger with 3 batteries for the s3(from Amazon). So far they are working fine, I spend quite a bit of time where there are no USB ports available.

Cheers,
Shawn

someone has firmware version 1.1.2 or 1.1.3beta? please share it.

As far as I was able to find, iBasso went from 1.0 on the first batch DX50's to 1.1.5 as a download. Version 1.0 was never made available as a download. If there are any intermediary versions they were never released except perhaps to a close group of DX50 owners.

ok. but what about 1.1.3beta (posted link: http://www.head-fi.org/t/679473/the-ibasso-dx50-thread-latest-firmware-1-2-8/6945#post_9982838)

or may be it's just misprint

musicheaven was this while using the HO? I was listening to mine yesterday for like six hours and no problems, but I was amping.

Yes on the HO. I don't know if it'd be the same problem with the LO for one major reason, I put the volume to max on LO when amping. I have the impression that it is fine from the LO.

This is the second time it has happened. The first I just ignored it thinking it was just a freak accident.

Have you tried the link

It does not exist, the list on page 1 of this thread is what was distributed through the player's life. Soren keeps a tab on those versions. The one that this link mentioned should have been 1.2.3beta.

I would reload the firmware. I have never had it happen.

If my memory serves me well, it might have happened one time with an older firmware but they were aware of it and fixed it. It never happened again.
I have already reloaded the firmware twice but like you said, I am going to do it again, take no chances.

Read my report, you are going to drool

I like bass but neutrality seems to be more enjoyable and increase listening time as you are not getting pounded in your head constantly

Thank you so much for your answers:)

I have the momentum over ears aswell, do you recommend having an amp in your setup when you use Momentum + dx50?

When you said "look at my report" I'm guessing you mean what you wrote like 2 post earlier?

Thank you again!
